Best Practices for Your Brass Bushing

Your brass bushings can be mounted using either a press fit or a slip fit. A hole that’s .0005”-.002” larger than the barrel diameter of the bushing is required for a slip fit. For a press fit, the hole will need to be .0002”-.0003” smaller than the barrel diameter of the bushing.

Press fit bushings are typically used where there is tight pressure on a hole location, and they are most commonly used in locations where the bushing won’t need to be replaced.

Slip fit bushings allow for simple alignment and easy replacement and are therefore used in high-volume operations, as they are easily accessible and can be replaced quickly as needed.
